Job Description

The Visual Merchandiser gives each store a new visual identity that draws in customers and creates a rewarding retail experience to help increase sales.


  • Research emerging and evolving retail trends.
  • Execute merchandising plans and displays to support the creative vision of the Brand as determined by Retail Leadership.
  • Standardize store signage.
  • Consult and communicate with Director(s) of Retail on merchandising goals.
  • Design, plans coordinate all displays. Order fixtures.
  • Refresh and support visual needs at stores as assigned by Director(s) of Retail in a timely manner with a completion ratio from one day to three days depending on the size of the store.
  • Assist the Director(s) of Retail in the design for future/new stores look and feel.

Job Requirements

  • Must have minimum three years retail experience including knowledge of fabrics and the fashion industry.
  • Solid knowledge of design concepts, vision, imagination, and creativity.
  • Must also have outstanding people skills and be able to take direction and criticism. Must have an analytical ability.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license with clean DMV record.
  • Must have a passion for developing merchandising skills in others and a willingness to teach
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule as overnight and “off-hour” shifts as sometimes necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising/Marketing or Fashion Design preferred.


  • Working on displays requires standing on hard surfaced floors for long periods of time. Occasionally climbing ladders and lifting and carrying items/merchandise weighing up to approximately 35 pounds.
  • Working sometimes in a very dusty environment.
  • Work is performed in retail settings, but will include activity in the stores' stockroom and productions areas.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee will sometimes sit, and use the telephone and personal computer with a VDT screen for short period of time.
