Job Description

The ReCompute Technician supports Goodwill’s Triple Bottom Line goal towards a sustainable future through refurbishing electronics to support Goodwill’s sales channels.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, secure and clean working environment at all time
  • Works under the supervision Recompute leadership.
  • Exceed expectations and goals.
  • Gives special attention to deterring theft and reporting suspicious activity when appropriate.
  • Follow all policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Participates in all training activities and assignments as directed.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including but not limited to weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain and understand importance of high-security environment
  • Process unsorted materials by using warehouse tools (forklifts, pallets jacks, etc.)
  • Sort materials for Recycle, Recompute, and other streams
  • Sort E-waste, Hazardous Material and Universal Waste for proper disposal.
  • Receive and ship all process materials
  • Maintains documentation for operation
  • Sort and label electronic materials by category and place in proper containers and area
  • Ensure the safety and destruction of data from donated equipment
  • Test and clean basic household electronics.
  • Erase data from all electronics
  • Dismantle electronics to maximize value of electronics
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Able to perform mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge to safely operate and test household electronics.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
